Dr. Nagel grew up in Litchfield, MN and graduated from Litchfield High School. Upon graduation he attended Mankato State University where he majored in pre-optometry. He attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago for 4 years, graduating in May of 1989.

He has been practicing Optometry in Olivia and the Willmar area since that time.

While in college he was President of the Sports Vision Club and was one of the team eye doctors for the Montreal Expos organization. During that time he also examined many of the De Paul Blue Demons and the Chicago Bulls in the late 1980's. He has special interest in sports vision and general family optometry.

He was selected in 1997 as the Optometrist of the Year in the State of Minnesota. He currently lives in Bird Island, MN with his wife Dawn and has 3 daughters, Heather, Jennifer, and Maggie. When not at work he enjoys playing amateur baseball, downhill skiing, and bow hunting.
