Dr. Fischer graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD in 1988. He received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Fischer was then very fortunate to train at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, one of our country's top ophthalmology residency programs.

He completed his fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Michigan's Kellogg Eye Center. Dr. Fischer was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1997.

He is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association and the South Dakota State Medical Association.
